FoR Referring Veterinarians:

When Referring a Patient, Please send the following
with the Client:

All radiological studies (CT, MRI, X-ray) pertaining to the current problem.   Medical reports of these studies are not sufficient; clients must bring the original   films with them to be reviewed. Please do not send films prior to scheduled   appointments unless asked to do so. All materials will be returned.
Prior medical records and consultations from other veterinarians who have   evaluated the medical problem should also be hand carried to the appointment   unless prior arrangements have been made with the receiving veterinarian.
A complete list of the names and dosages of all the medications the pet
  is taking.
Insurance forms and information, when applicable.

Length of Visit:
Clients should allow 1-2 hours for an appointment. We will spend as much time as needed to ensure appropriate assessment and understanding of the patient. Please prepare the client for possible delays with the assurance that each client/patient will have the time they need with the veterinarian.

Important Information Regarding Referrals:

Procedures that will take longer than 30 minutes will likely be performed later in   the afternoon/early evening or at another pre-scheduled time; if the client would   rather not wait, we can day-board the pet.
We may suggest that the client leave the pet in our care for procedures or   therapies and have them come back later (afternoon/evening), please advise
  your clients of this possibility.
If there is the chance that sedation may be required (i.e. radiographs,
ultrasound, tooth trim etc.), or if venipuncture is expected, please inform the   client not to feed the pet 3 hours prior to the appointment.
If it is anticipated that the pet may be hospitalized for the day or overnight,   clients are encouraged to bring some of their pet’s familiar and favorite
  food items.
