General Medicine Services

Traditional pet care includes wellness and general medicine, dental care, and diagnostic services for early detection of developing problems. Our team of veterinary professionals provides these services with skill and compassion, offering support for both the patient and pet owner.

Unique supportive services to our medical and surgical departments include our blood bank and house calls.

Veterinary Specialty & Referral Services

The Red Bank Veterinary Hospitals offer cutting-edge medicine to our patients. We welcome veterinary referrals for specialty services such as anesthesiology & pain management, cardiology, clinical nutrition, critical care, dentistry & oral surgery, dermatology & allergy, internal medicine, I-131, interventional radiology & endoscopy, neurology & neurosurgery, oncology, ophthalmology, physical rehabilitation and surgery. Clinical trials are also available to eligible pets.

A Rich History

25+ Years of Caring, Compassion & Commitment to Excellence

  1. 1986

    Thomas Trotter, VMD, and Anthony DeCarlo, VMD, purchase Red Bank Animal Hospital at 37 Newman Springs Road, Shrewsbury, New Jersey. Doors open June 23, 1986, at 4:30 p.m. under the new name Red Bank Veterinary Hospital.

    Dr. Anthony DeCarlo first pioneered the use of MRI on small animals at the University of Pennsylvania. In 1986, he brings this cutting-edge technology to Monmouth County, New Jersey.

  2. 1988

    Red Bank Veterinary Hospital receives its first community recognition. This is one of many that the hospital will receive in the coming years thanks to our support of communities across New Jersey.

  3. 1990

    Red Bank Veterinary Hospitals moves to a larger building at 210 Newman Springs Road, Red Bank, New Jersey.

  4. 1993

    To celebrate Red Bank Veterinary Hospital as a teaching institution, the hospital holds an intern party. The first intern class has two graduates. The class size continues to grow and eventually specialty internships and residencies are added.

    The site for the new hospital once housed the Tri Tac building. It had been built for, and leased to, Fort Monmouth and was a center of operations for an international task force developing field communications for the armies of the United States, Australia, and Canada.

  5. 2003

    Red Bank Veterinary Hospitals plans a major expansion in order to accommodate the growing demand for specialty services.

    On July 1, 2003, Red Bank Veterinary Hospitals opens South Jersey Veterinary Emergency Service, a 24-hour emergency hospital located in Linwood, New Jersey.

    The staff of Red Bank Veterinary Hospital creates the Red Bank Veterinary Foundation to assist pet owners whose pets need medical treatment but have no financial means to provide it. An independent board assumes leadership in 2007 and the name is changed to the Save U.S. Pets Foundation.

  6. 2004

    The groundbreaking ceremony for the new building takes place on August 9, 2003.

    Employees move in to the custom-built 58,000 square foot building on December 18, 2004.

  7. 2005

    The former location of Red Bank Veterinary Hospital becomes the RBVH Physical Rehabilitation Center, home to physical rehabilitation, medical boarding, and acupuncture.

  8. 2006

    Red Bank Veterinary Hospital celebrates its move 197 Hance Avenue, Tinton Falls, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 23, 2006.
    This day also marks the 20th anniversary of Red Bank Veterinary Hospital.

  9. 2007

    The Wyatt Goldthwaite Veterinary Blood Bank is created thanks to a generous donation made by the Goldthwaite family in memory of their beloved dog, Wyatt.

  10. 2008

    Red Bank Veterinary Hospital expands its emergency and specialty care into Cherry Hill and Hillsborough. The new hospitals are named RBVH Cherry Hill and RBVH Hillsborough.

    South Jersey Veterinary Emergency Service changes its name to RBVH Linwood.

    To encompass all of the hospitals in the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital family, the term RBVH Veterinary Healthcare Network is developed.

  11. 2011

    Red Bank Veterinary celebrates 25 years of caring, compassion, and a commitment to excellence.

  12. 2014

    The Red Bank Veterinary Hospital Healthcare Network joins the Compassion-First Pet Hospitals family.

  13. 2016

    RBVH Cherry Hill moves to a state-of-the-art building in Mount Laurel, NJ and is renamed RBVH Mount Laurel.
